After a 20+ year career working in global business management for a fortune 500 company, Scott left the corporate life in 2023 to found Reffing with the Sappers along with his children Aaron & Katie. It all started with a YouTube Channel and a dream to bring a better experience for referees at the youth sports level.
Today, Scott officiates Soccer, Football, Flag Football, and Men’s Lacrosse

Katie became a soccer referee at the age of 13 and has been a part of the California North Referee Administration referee development program for 4+ Years. Her referee journey has taken her to Far West Regional Finals, Presidents Cup, and USYS National Events.

Carlos fell in love with soccer and has played all his live. After becoming a referee in 2015, he’s officiated over 1500 games in his career and began assigning referees in 2016. Through his assigning career, he has developed a referee recruitment and retention program that successfully recruits and trains 200+ new referees annually, and his efforts have been featured on the Refs Need Love Too Podcast.
